Obama: Lawmakers Must Stop "Self -Inflicted Wounds" to Grow U.S. Economy
President Barack Obama called on lawmakers to work together to pass a budget in his weekly address, stressing that it was the best way to invest in America and create jobs. "It begins by ending what has done more than anything else to undermine our economy over the past few years - and that's the constant cycle of manufactured crises and self-inflicted wounds," Obama said.
First Lady Michelle Obama honored military families by giving them the first glimpse of the White House's newly installed Christmas decorations. The White House expects 70,000 visitors will see the trees, trimmings and First Dog displays.
The Obama Team Promotes Diversity Of Judicial Picks
The White House is touting the diversity of President Obama's judicial nominees. A new graphic on the White House website says that, of Obama's confirmed judicial nominees, 42% are women, 19% are African-American, and 12% are Hispanics -- all higher rates than those of presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
