When he was diagnosed with a genetic disease that robbed him of his central vision in 2009, he vowed he wouldn’t let it rob him of his future. So, he created a vision for his life.

How Underperforming School Turned Around Test Scores, Conquered Common Core
Students in 29 states are taking the Common Core tests for the first time this spring. A few years ago, one school in Washington, D.C., changed how it prepares for standardized tests, adopting home visits, pep rallies and new curricula to give students a boost.
When a victim reports a rape and undergoes a forensic exam, the rape kit is handed over to law enforcement. Law enforcement then sends the kit off for DNA testing. The results of that analysis can help catch a rapist. At least, that is what is supposed to happen.For an estimated 400,000 victims, their case was forgotten about. Their rape kit was left on a shelf or in a storage or in a warehouse. And their rapists were allowed to walk free.
