Rescue operations were underway in Huruma estate, where a residential building collapsed trapping tens of people inside. Eight people were confirmed dead while six others were pulled out of the rubble.
According to Kenya Red Cross three adults and a child were pulled from the rubble and taken to Kenyatta National Hospital for treatment.

Vigil of protest over death of Mike Brown and others killed by police
Protest vigils were held in cities around the country 8/14/2014 to stand in solidarity with Ferguson Missouri where 18 year old Michael Brown was shot by a police officer. Washington DC's Malcolm X park saw 2,000 stand in silent protest while the names of the dead were read.
