BET, the Viacom-owned cable network has inked a new deal with the founder and executive producer Beverly Bond of Black Girls Rock to keep the annual awards show on the network for another five years. Bond founded Black Girls Rock as a multifaceted empowerment movement that includes youth enrichment mentoring programs, a tour and the annual awards show, partnering with BET in 2010 for the latter.
