Italy Says 3,700 Boat Migrants Rescued, Operations Ongoing

An Italian Coast Guard vessel reaches an overcrowded migrant boat in the Mediterranean. Nearly 3,700 migrants were rescued near the coast of Libya, Saturday and early Sunday, authorities say, and were being brought to Italian shores. Even more rescue operations are expected Sunday. The Coast Guard said some of the migrants rescued so far were brought to the island of Lampedusa overnight. Their nationalities were not immediately determined.
